Our Why

Founded in 2019, Envision Growth is a Milwaukee-based real estate development firm focused on building healthy people and communities.

Through intentional investment in the built environment, we believe real estate development can be a strategy to improve health outcomes, expand access to opportunity, and support long-term community stability.

Change.

Urban Regeneration

We operate under a shared theory of change focused on transforming communities into thriving environments of opportunity. Through the repurposing of existing spaces, we target upstream determinants of health—fostering lasting improvements in economic stability, physical infrastructure, social cohesion, and environmental quality.

Community.

Multiplier Effect

We believe in creating long-term economic value that benefits both communities and the people who call them home. By attracting new businesses, we help generate local job opportunities and increase tax revenue—resources that can be reinvested into public infrastructure, social systems, and essential services.

Impact Investing

We aim to find creative ways to partner with organizations to invest capital into projects that address pressing social issues. This strategy has proven to be a powerful catalyst for global progress — and a driver of significant market growth.

Dr. Oby Nwabuzor, DrPH, MBA
Founder & Principal, Envision Growth

I founded Envision Growth in 2019 to bridge a critical gap: the disconnect between the built environment and life expectancy. I knew that real estate wasn’t just about buildings—it was about lives. Where and how we build shapes life expectancy, opportunity, and long-term stability.

My background brings together two worlds that are too often separate—public health and real estate development. Over the years, I’ve worked across early-stage commercial projects, single-family home revitalization, and the creation of entry-level and workforce housing. Today, I lead all operations and strategic partnerships for Envision Growth, with a focus on building places that restore health, stability, and generational value.

My perspective is shaped by systems thinking: I understand how the built environment influences everything from health outcomes to economic mobility. Outside of development, I’ve contributed to over $1.7 million in funding for public health efforts in Wisconsin, including expanded SNAP access, healthy food retail, and walkable, bikeable neighborhood initiatives.

I earned my Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from the Medical College of Wisconsin and an MBA in Business Strategy from Cardinal Stritch University. I also completed a Certificate in Commercial Real Estate from Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business.

I’m proud to be an alumna of the Marquette University ACRE Program, the Harvard Business School Young American Leaders Program, and the Urban Land Institute’s Health Leaders Network. Each of these experiences has shaped how I lead—and why I believe real estate can be one of the most powerful tools we have to build healthier, longer lives.
